Fool Me Once
By Rita L. Smith
Carrie could hardly believe her eyes. Her fiancé was sitting at a corner table with a blond harlot. How dare him. She walked over to where Kyle was sitting, picked up his plate and dumped his dinner on him.
Carrie turned to the bimbo and said, "Be careful, if he cheated on me with the likes of you, no telling whom he'll cheat with on you."
Carrie turned and stormed out of the restaurant. It had been her favorite eatery, but now she doubted she would ever be able to sit in the place without getting a stomach ache. She walked home, since she doubted her driving abilities.
Kyle was sitting on her stoop, his dimples appeared on seeing her. "Honey, you misunderstood."
"Misunderstood? How could I misunderstand you having dinner with that slut?"
"That woman is my new boss. We are not having an affair!"
"You’re not?"
"No." Kyle opened his arms and hugged Carrie. The tension drained from them both and they started to laugh.
"Oh, what must she be thinking?" Carrie asked.
"She is just glad that you dumped the spaghetti on me and not her. She found the whole thing amusing," Kyle said.
