1. What inspired you to write chick lit?

I own a market research company that uncovers consumer trends and
insights. For my work, I travel constantly all over the country. I
find it fascinating how different it is in different parts of the
country, especially the east and west coast (which is where I travel
between the most often). I thought it would be fun to write a story
about a girl who lives and works bi-coastally, juggling two lives and the
dramatically different cultures and lifestyles of two exciting cities:
New York and Los Angeles.

2. What do you enjoy doing when you're not writing?

This year, I vowed to tackle some of the things I've always wanted to
try but always put onto the back burner. In addition to running my
company and writing, I've taken up the piano and started taking French
lessons. I guess it finally occurred to me that life is short, and no
one's getting any younger. If there's something we'd like to
accomplish, the first step is starting!

3. Out of all of the books you have written, which was the most fun
to write and why?

"Bicoastal Babe" is my first book. I'm now working on the sequel.

4. Are there any naughty episodes in your novels that mirror real
life?

If there were, I would NEVER reveal it because I just could not handle
the thought of my fiance's grandmother reading it and knowing that it
really happened!

5. What is your favorite time of the day: morning, afternoon, or night?

Mornings, although I love to sleep in. One of the benefits of not
having children (yet) is that on weekends, you can hit the snooze button
as many times as you want. I'm enjoying it while it lasts.

6. If you could cast yourself as a character in one of your novels,
who would it be?

I like to call my main character, Lindsay Miller, a "goofy underdog
heroine." Like myself, she's constantly flubbing up and sticking her
foot in her mouth, especially in romantic situations. Luckily, the men
in her life find her "adorable." I'd like to think that's me too!

7. What did you do to celebrate the publishing of your first novel?

I popped open a bottle of champagne and danced around my living room
with my fiance like in that scene in Forrest Gump. I just hope the
neighbors weren't watching through the windows because we probably
looked like a couple of big dorks.

8. Is there anything you'd like to share with your readers?

I absolutely love hearing from readers who write to me on my website.
If there's anybody out there who's enjoying Bicoastal Babe, definitely
drop me a note to say hello!
