ARTICLES

WRITER’S GUIDELINES: The Chick Lit Review currently accepts nonfiction articles from both established and new authors.  Articles also include personal narratives and memoires, as long as the articles would be of interest to young women in their 20s, 30s, and 40s. Articles should be of interest to young women, with a “chick” theme—touching themes of interest within the chick lit genre such as romance, fashion, relationships both romantic and platonic, etc.

Articles should not be longer than 2,000 words (approximately 4 pages double spaced). Previously published articles are welcomed, though the writer must have all rights to the story.

SUBMISSION: All submissions should be emailed to igreen@chicklitreview.org. Please type in the subject ARTICLE SUBMISSION: [Title of Article] so that the submission is not confused for spam. Also, the article must be cut and pasted in the BODY of the email. ATTACHMENTS ARE NOT ACCEPTED AND ALL EMAILS WITH ATTACHMENTS WILL NOT BE READ.

Please be sure to include a short bio with your submission. Authors can also include a synopsis of published work (if any). We would also like to know how you heard about us.

PUBLICATION RIGHTS: CLR maintains electronic rights to publish the work. After publication, all rights revert back to the author. However, all work will remain in archived editions on the website.

COMPENSATION: In the spirit of the cliched adage of our parents, "money does not grow on trees," CRL can no longer monetarily compensate writers for their work. We are actively working to remedy this. In the meantime, writers are compensated with publication credit in The Chick Lit Review. Additionally, writers are allowed a bio after their work which can include websites and other contact information.

REVIEW TIME: All submissions (without attachments) will be read. Please expect a 4 to 8 weeks lead time for a response.
